The Church of Scientology of Texas is located in Austin, Texas.

Scientology Founder, L. Ron Hubbard, stated:

“We respect man and believe he is worthy of help. We respect you and believe you, too, can help.”

Do you ever get fed up with the scandal, death and destruction that dominates the news? Do you wish you could DO something about it? Something that would really HELP?

“Something CAN be done about it” is the motto of the 15,000 Scientology Volunteer Ministers who wanted to help and found out how. You, too, can make a difference.

When Scientologist Lorraine Baritz of Boston was called to the hospital by friends whose 13-year-old son was in a coma and on life-support four days after a severe motorcycle accident, she knew exactly what she had to do to help.

The doctors had done all they could and the boy’s anxious parents could only wait, wondering if he would ever wake up.

But Lorraine, a Scientology Volunteer Minister, knew the boy needed not just medical help, but spiritual aid—and she went into action. At 10 p.m. she administered the first of several Scientology procedures called simply “assists.” By midnight, the boy was resting more easily. By morning, he opened his eyes, awakening from his coma and began to breathe without life support. Two days later, he left intensive care.

News of the recovery traveled through the hospital, reaching others standing vigil by their own children. A couple with an infant son in a coma asked for help. Again Lorraine answered the call.

The outcome was reported in the local Boston People’s Voice newspaper:

“When Church of Scientology volunteer minister Lorraine Baritz used her spiritual training to revive a 13-year-old motorcycle accident victim from a coma in a Boston hospital recently, it was considered a miracle.

“When she revived a baby from a coma a few days later,” the article continued, “it was obvious that there is a workable way to save many lives.”

For Lorraine Baritz, success in helping people is routine. “I know something effective can be done about the pain and suffering in people’s lives,” she says. “As a Scientology Volunteer Minister, I know I have the ability to help anyone, no matter how hopeless the situation may seem.”

Stories like these are commonplace, anything but common in a world where people are searching for answers on how to provide real and lasting help to others.

Individual Scientology Volunteer Ministers come from all walks of life, and work to help family, friends and strangers in many situations and circumstances: relationship problems or questions, anxiety, tutoring a child in learning skills, teen stress, self-esteem, helping a family member overcome alcohol or drug dependency, guiding a criminally inclined adolescent back onto the road to self-respect and honesty, resolving a dispute at work or at home, helping an associate to better organize his life or handle symptoms of stress.

You, too, can learn how to help.
